The Committee is delighted to announce that its invitation to Kate & Helen Richardson-Walsh has been accepted and they will be visiting the Club on Friday, 10 August 2018, from 1:00pm.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to inspire all our club members and to support the wider hockey family, as well as sharing in some of Great Britain’s gold medal glory from the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The timing of the visit couldn’t be better, shortly after the conclusion of the Women’s World Cup in London, and in the run up to our next hockey season and we encourage as many of you to attend as possible.
The visit itself will incorporate two sessions, with the first session aimed at the younger club members and the second at the older members.
Each session will run for two and a half hours and be split into one hour in the clubhouse, and an hour and a half on the pitch. Time in the clubhouse will include a presentation by Kate & Helen followed by questions & answers and selfies. Playing time on the pitch will be based around gameplay.Match feeThe first session will run from 1:00pm to 3:30pm and the second session from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.The visit will be open to all current club members. However, player safety means that places will have to be limited during the pitch sessions, so we are asking those members who wish to play in the pitch sessions to register in advance. This will give the Club the best chance of planning the visit and ensuring that all those taking part get as much benefit from it as possible, from the two sessions. As the club has a diverse range of players, player safety also means that only those that are 11 years or older will be able to play in the pitch element of the sessions.Any other members who wish to attend on the day, in a non-playing capacity, will be able to attend the clubhouse element at no cost, although they should still register in advance please, as the clubhouse does have a restricted capacity, under the fire regulations.Players under 13 must be accompanied throughout the visit by a responsible adult.
Match fees will need to be collected from all those playing in the pitch element of either session, so that the Club covers the pitch hire costs.Match fees will need to be paid in advance and will be:
